Born from a passion for exploration – and cultivated from years working/travelling globally, often in remote locations – mixed with a love for the real, inspired by depth and nuance and keen to co-create shared experiences, Turquoise Curated unfolded. 

Turquoise Curated offers journeys for the curious.  Dedicated to crafting intentional journeys that blend wellness, connection and local experiences.  We remain less glossy, more authentic, more personal.    

Turquoise Curated emerged from a belief that meaningful journeys are about more than the number of sights visited and more about the connections we make – to a place, the people, different ways of living and how fellow travelers also inform our perspective. 

In our daily lives we are inundated with technology, remote work and often the overwhelm of feeling disconnected.  There is a human need to experience social engagement that is fun, exciting, nourishing and interesting.  If you reflect on being an adult, where did your childlike wonder go? When did enchantment and a joie de vivre get set aside?   

For me, travel brings forward this je ne sais quoi – an inexplicable and innate sense of awe.  

As a child I was fascinated by books, dinosaurs, museums, mountains, and cultures around the globe.  That curiosity became a life lived across Africa, in India, Pakistan, southeast Asia, the Caribbean and other parts of the world.  

Travel has evolved beyond the tourist route and historic sights to learning from others and sharing together. This is less about traveling to check off a destination and more about journeying – with others and yourself.

The name resulted from the desire to unite two opposites – uniqueness and commonality.  Turquoise as a stone ranges in color from shades of green to blue.  It is fundamentally unique, earthy, and considered spiritually potent.  The color turquoise is found across the globe from the Silk Road in Central Asia and Persia reflected in rugs, pottery, in the architecture as you look above and below your feet in intricate tiles as you traverse mosques and the floors of Moroccan riads.  The American Southwest has iconic turquoise and silver jewelry from the artistry of the native American Indian population.  Turquoise hues shimmer in the Caribbean Sea and across the Indian Ocean from Kenya’s Swahili Coast to Zanzibar, India and beyond. Turquoise as a color and stone unites so many cultures globally and is also fundamentally distinct.
